What is Finsnickeri?

We are a Bozeman, Montana-based home decor studio founded by us, Kurt and Denise Palmquist, with a shared vision of creating unique, visually impactful pieces that celebrate the art of fine woodworking. Our name, "Finsnickeri," is a nod to Kurt’s Swedish heritage, translating to "fine woodworking" or "cabinetmaking"—a tradition of precision and integrity that guides everything we build. We are deeply committed to crafting home decor that blends the rugged, inspiring landscape of Montana with a personal, artisan touch. Because we believe that true quality cannot be mass-produced, we personally design and build every item, utilizing premium materials like repurposed exotic tone woods that carry their own unique stories. When you bring a piece of Finsnickeri into your space, you aren't just acquiring decor; you are welcoming a heartfelt creation born from our passion, our craftsmanship, and our dedication to bringing warmth and beauty into your everyday life.

Design, Materials & Craftsmanship

At Finsnickeri, we specialize in creating carefully crafted home decor items, including tabletop trays, clocks, mirrors, wall visuals and more. Some of what makes our products unique is our use of exotic woods, select items are designed to repurpose materials originally intended for acoustic guitars at Gibson Guitar, where I work as a craftsman. This sustainable approach not only enhances our environmental responsibility but also adds a special story and character to each piece. We never mass-produce our work; each item is custom-designed and made by us ensuring that quality and craftsmanship are central to every creation.

Because we personally oversee the creation of every piece from our studio in Bozeman, we use a custom, inquiry-based sales model. This ensures that every client receives the same level of attention as the craftsmanship that goes into our work.
